b. Nivi Margolin a 23 year old from Kadima, a town in Central Israel, was a former young emissary through the Jewish Agency (a year of service done in a Jewish community abroad before the mandatory army service). She was based in the Upper West Side Jewish community of Manhattan, New York, and worked as a Hebrew teacher and Jewish/lsraeli culture educator. More recently, she was a commander in the Israeli Defense Forces (the
c.
Israeli army), who served in the IDF band and theater educational unit, working as a production manager. For the past year she has been working as a travel agent in Vietnam. Nivi landed in New York, to visit her host families from her year living there, on Friday morning, October 6th. 24 hours later, her life was changed forever. Now, living in America indefinitely, Nivi speaks about her story, having personal connection to many Israeli hostages currently in unknown conditions inside of Gaza as well as a friend of some who attended the Nova nature party in southern
Israel, and never came back. She speaks about survivors & trauma while giving a brief history of the Jewish people in Israel including a history of Israel's many wars since its founding in 1948. She is particularly passionate about empowering communities abroad to help towns who were decimated by the October 7th massacre such as Kibbutz Kfar Aza, and informing her audiences about how they can protect themselves in such turbulent
