Taking place in the Community Room in Canton's (Massachusetts) Public Library on November, 29th, 2022: Downtown Canton’s Zoning, the “Canton Economic Opportunity Overlay District” has been in existence for nearly 20 years guiding downtown investments. The Town’s recent Master Plan recommends updating downtown zoning. The Town of Canton is working with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) to facilitate a planning process define and build support for potential zoning updates. This is the first of two community meetings that are a part of this process. The interactive meeting will focus on presenting and gathering feedback on initial ideas for zoning updates in downtown.

accolades.
C. (15 min.) Teaching and Learning Report Catherine Eckersley will provide an update on Grade 5 music programming.
D. Unfinished Business
1. (15 min.) Capital Budget Presentation (VOTE): Mr. Marshall will present the FY24 Capital Budget for a 2nd
read and a vote of approval.
2. (10 min.) Alpha Solutions Capital Planning: Mr. Marshall will present the Alpha Solutions Capital Planning
proposal.
3. (10 min.) Transportation Update: Mr. Marshall will provide a transportation update.
E. New Business
1. (15 min.) Athletic Update: Athletic Director Danny Erickson will share MIAA, facilities and tournament
updates.
2. (10 min.) Policy Update (VOTE): Members of the policy subcommittee will share updated District appendix
language around M.G.L. c. 71, §37H3/4 and the 1st read of policy JIC.
3. (20 min.) District Goal Updates: Assistant Superintendent Shannon will provide an update on District Goals
Priority #2 & Priority #4.
Priority #2 goal pertaining to behavioral expectations and proactive steps the District has taken to build
relationships and connections to schools, including the following:
■ The development and implementation of PreK-12 systems to track behavioral incidents and design
clear response protocols for the different levels.
■ Monthly meetings with building leadership to review behavioral patterns (through qualitative and
quantitative data analysis) and best practice studies.
■ Quarterly Bus/van meetings with administration and transportation reps to review expectations,
incident response protocols, and the camera system.
■ Staff professional development in restorative practices.
Priority #4 Student Information System (SIS) goal pertaining to the Selection Committee.
