Annual Town Meeting Canton, May 22, 2021

This Annual Town Meeting took place outside in Canton on Memorial Field as the town navigated the pandemic in 2021.

FinCom of May 20, 2021

FinCom votes on nine items changed slightly coming before the town of Canton MA on Saturday's Annual Town Meeting taking place May 22, 2021 at 12:30pm on Memorial field. 

Pre Annual Town Meeting Information Session of May 13, 2021

Town meeting will have several articles to vote on on May 22 at 12:30pm on Memorial Field at CHS. Because it is outside, the town asks that residents come prepared and ready to vote to help save time. To that end this information session is designed to answer questions regarding articles, the consent agenda and any other Canton citizen concerns. Listen ''on-the-go'' with this podcasts. School Committee of May 13, 2021

1. Call to Order Roll Call

2. Executive Session To conduct strategy with respect to preparation for negotiations with non-union personnel, Canton High School Principal, and Nurse Leader, and strategy with respect to collective bargaining, as the Chair so declares that an open meeting might have a detrimental effect on the bargaining position of the School Committee.

   1. Director of Finance and Operations Finalist: Dr. Fischer-Mueller will recommend

      the finalist for the Director of Finance and Operations, and following the School

      Committee interview, will seek a vote of approval for appointment.

   2. Nurse Leader Appointment: Dr. Fischer-Mueller will recommend the Nurse Leader

      candidate to the Committee for an appointment and a vote of approval.

   3. COVID19 Protocols Update: In accordance with policy EBC Supplemental, Dr.

      Fischer-Mueller will present a change in the COVID19 protocols enacted on May

      6, 2021, for a possible vote of approval.

   4. Encore Update: Ms. Eckersley will share pricing and process information

      regarding Encore’s after-school music program lessons for a vote of approval.

   5. GMS Project Based Learning (PBL): Ms.Shannon will provide an update on the

      GMS PBL plans.

   6. School Committee FY22 Calendar: Dr. Fischer-Mueller will present a proposed

      School Committee meeting calendar for FY22 for a possible vote of approval.

7. Unfinished Business

   1. FY22 Budget: Dr. Fischer-Mueller and Mr. Nectow will continue the discussion

      on the FY22 Budget.

   2. Policy JICFB: Mr. Folan, Chair Merenda and Ms. O’Halloran will present policy

      JICFB - Bullying Prevention - for a 2nd read and vote of approval.

   3. Policy KE: Mr. Folan, Chair Merenda and Ms. O’Halloran will present policy KE

Article #30: Energy Aggregation Proposal Informational Hearing

At Canton's Annual Town Meeting on Sat. May 22, 12:30pm on Memorial field the preposed Article #30 will ask for approval for the Select Board to seek a means to aggregate energy costs for interested residents. Details on this proposal are discussed at this public Zoom meeting held May 10, 2021.
